Visual Art
We finally meet up with our final project. We learn about line and now we need to apply it to our final project. We need to trace 4 portraits of Van Gogh with 4 different types of line, which are contour line, continuous line, expressive line, and texture line. Contour line is a outline of an object with some specific details in it, continuous line is a line that keep going and going until an object is being shown, expressive line is a line to show different kind of expression, and textural line is a line to show a texture. Textural line need to ver small and consistent so it could create a sense of texture.
I was given a tracing paper to trace the portrait. First, we trace the portrait by making contour line. To trace the portrait with contour line, I trace the whole portrait (only his body and head, not the background) with some specific details in it. I then began to draw the back ground with contour line. The drawing is the outline but with some details in it. The task is not about the color, but is making variety of of contour. This task needs our creativity to build one type of line but different medium and different media.
My strength in tracing the portrait is creating the background. I am successful in creating different medium, different colors, and different media. Different media is joined together and creating sense of of details in the portrait. Another of my strength is putting details in Van Gogh details and creating numerous colors surrounding the portrait. I able to create medium in different of media i use to draw the portrait, which are pastel, crayon, pencil, and marker.
My weakness in tracing the portrait is putting specific details in the portrait. I create the outline of the portrait but some of details in the portrait are left forgotten. I need put more details in the jacket of Van Gogh so that the outline of Van Gogh is portrait. I need to improve in developing contour line by exploring and learning different medium of contour line. I also need to improve my neatness in drawing the line of the portrait and the background.

I was given a tracing paper to trace the portrait. Second, we trace the portrait by making continuos line. To trace the portrait with continuos line, I trace the whole portrait (only his body and head, not the background) with some specific details in it. I then began to draw the background with continuous line. To trace the portrait was very challenging. We need to keep tracing the portrait without stopping. The most challenging part is creating the background and different media and medium in tracing the portrait.

My weakness in tracing the portrait is creating the background of the portrait. The background is very challenging for we need our creativity to create different medium of continuos line, different media, and we cannot stop drawing the line the background is finished. I need put more details in the background of Van Gogh. I need to improve my neatness in drawing the line and creativity in creating it. It is tiring to draw continuos line for we cannot stop drawing the line until it is finished. I could reduce it by moving the pencil I hold while i draw into another hand and wait for a second then change it back to the previous hand and start drawing the portrait. Continuos line is not only abstract line, the line must be based on the portrait. I need to use more varieties of media in creating continuos line.

I was given a tracing paper to trace the portrait. Third, we trace the portrait by making expressive line. To trace the portrait with expressive line, I trace the whole portrait (only his body and head, not the background) with some specific details in it. I then began to draw the background with expressive line. There are many type of expressive line. We are challenged to create a variety of expressive line. There many ways in creating expressive line, we can create it by zigzag line, organic line, geometric line, and many more.
My strength in tracing the portrait is creating the details in Van Gogh jacket. I am successful in creating different medium, different colors, different media, and variety of expressive line.I can create happy, madness, and other variety of expression in Van Gogh’s Jacket. To trace the portrait with texture line, I trace the whole portrait (only his body and head, not the background) with some specific details in it. There are many types of texture, which are bricks, floor, woods, and many more.
