During this quarter, we learned about trigonometry function and venn diagram. For trigonometry function, we learned about sine, cosine, and tangent. Our teacher gave us a worksheet for us to learn slowly and step by step about the trigonometry function. The worksheet did not directly mentioned about the three function, but it give us some problem so that we could found out by ourself about the function. Our teacher gave us a “key” for us to remember easily about the trig function and how it works. The “key” was called SohCahToa. This key was very helpful for me when I did criterion A test, because this key simplifies the process of doing the trig function. Another thing I like of doing Criterion A test was that we could use a calculator. Using calculator makes our work faster and easier, but not all problem in the test could use calculator. During the test, sometimes I missed a number or put in the wrong number that gave me a false result, and sometimes I did not check it. Sometimes, i also got mixed up with the trig function, what kind of process belong to what kind of trig function. I also sometimes use inappropriate function to a problem that should use other trig function. This is the area where I should improve. In the future, I will re-check my answer so that the is true, I should remember SohCahToa and how it works more often so that I don’t get mixed up for choosing the trig function I should use in a problem, and the most important, I should punch the number key in the calculator more carefully, because I do not want to give a wrong information to the calculator. Not only, about the trigonometry function, we also learned about Pythagoras. This section is not really hard for the process of finding hypothenuse is kind of easy. Just like finding the answer of using trig function, I did some careless mistake of finding answer using Pythagoras. I punch the wrong number key so that it gave me false answer. Sometimes, I also do a wrong calculation of finding a square root of a number. This where i need to improve. I need to be more careful of calculating number, and I also need to be more careful in punching the key number in the calculator
Then we learn about Venn diagram. At the beginning, we are introduced to number sets before we learned about Venn diagram through powerpoint. At first, i kind of struggle because I need to memorize some symbols that represent intersection, unity, is a set of, not a set of. The teacher gave us a problem more complex as we proceed to another slide, so that it develop our skill in number sets. Some of the problem were very complex and sometimes confusing, for example, where we need to find the unity of complementary of set a with set b. The numbers were so many, and for a complementary set, we need to find number that were not in the universal set. Sometimes, I missed a number when giving the answer. This is where I need to improve. I need to more cautious and more careful in giving answer. For the venn diagram, I kind of struggle, because there were important words such as “only”, means that the number is only in that area, not including in other area. Finding the intersection and define which number goes to what section is also hard because there were some important key words. In venn diagram, I personally think that using different colors and legends were very helpful. Venn diagram is much simpler than using bar graph, because venn diagram shows an exact number in that section.
